It is no secret that Ella's immune system is likely to be under-developed and well sucky, but I still want to try to lead a fairly normal although low-key life at least until fall. What is the thoughts on these little signs (they clip to your car seat)? Are they tacky or a kind reminder. And has anyone had problems with strangers touching their baby? That might require and ER visit for Mom.
I dont think they are tacky. just a nice reminder to people. I always had my girl covered with a blanket in her seat and most people wont touch if they are covered up. Better to be safe :)
ReplyDeleteHELPFUL! For some reason little preemie babies are even cuter than regular fullterm babies and have an extra "come touch me!" pull about them for strangers. If you are out in public be prepared to be mean to strangers and get in their way to stop them from touching Ella's hands and head. Even with the little sign, you will still have to intercept strangers germy hands before they touch the baby! Charlie is now 2 and I'm just starting to be ok if people at church want to "shake" his hand or touch him- and it's not even cold and flu season! I'll probably get crazy again when winter hits. A simple cold can put them so far behind, it's just not worth it at all.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you guys! I'm enjoying your blog.
Save your money!
ReplyDeleteHelpful! Do it!! She's a preemie and needs even more protection from germs which even the most well meaning and clean of people can carry!
ReplyDeleteExtremely helpful! I still have Eliza's on her stroller and she is five :) If nothing else, it draws people's attention first and then they stop and think before deciding to reach into the stroller. I had one lunatic try to touch Eliza while she was in her stroller still with her O2, but she did stop when she saw the sign. Micropreemies need all the help they can get in keeping the germs away.
ReplyDeleteI find them to be helpful. My son's is on his carseat. It is just a visual reminder for people to not touch your child.
ReplyDeleteWe had one of these -we got it from the NICU when my last baby was in there.
ReplyDeleteI had one for my micro-preemie 4 years ago...and saved it for my full term newborn and am using it right now. not tacky, just a gentle reminder to strangers.
