An expensive day.

The good news is that there really isn't much. My rental car got hit in the parking lot and that should be fun to deal with. I also got a parking ticket (seperate place) because I was in a 15 min./loading zone. I was NOT gone for 15 min. but I wan't "loading" whatever that means. Good times.
On a much happier note Ell is doing great. Pooped all over me. And when I went in for her night snuggle I flipped her over (they let her sleep on her belly here, that should be fun to remedy once we get home) and her umbelical "stump" was gone! I did find it in her bed (and no I didn't keep it!) So now she just has a cute belly button!

Good news and bad news...

The good news is that little one is doing fabulous! Tonight I held her and she was nothing but smiles!!! So darling. The bad news is that I have only one week left with her here in Florida before I come home. I have made the decision (as gut-wrenching as it is) that I need to go back home and go back to work. By doing this it will enable me to spend more time with her once she gets home. She is in very good hands here, and is loved by all of the nurses. There is a battle over who gets to take care of her every shift change. She still weighs 1.11 today but a slightly heavier one. They also measured her length and she was 12 and 1/3 inches.

Initiation Day

Today was finally the day. Ella decided it was time to make me a real Mom. While I was trying to figure out why her diaper was completely dry she pooped all over. Then she threw-up down my bra. It was great. Plus to make things even more fun we pulled out her feeding tube. She still weighs 1 11 but it is a slightly heavier one. :)

hefty, hefty, hefty

okay I got a weight when I went in tonight get this... 1.11 birthweight! 2 ounces gained! The first time the scale said 1 13 so I made her redo it. When I went in Ella was asleep with her thumb in her mounth and the other hand rubbing her head. Too cute! The night time nurse also reports that she gets yelled at by Ella frequently and when she screams it is loud!

1 Week Old!

Already a bad Mom and didn't ask how much she weighed today. But I'll be back tonight. As you can see I got to hold her today. She stayed awake the whole time. She listens when I talk to her and likes to raise her eyebrows!

Updates

Today Ella weighed 1 lb 9 oz. which is the same as yesterday. She did go back on c-pap last night at around midnight. Other than that she is doing great. Her next feeding will be bumped up to "full" which means that if she tolerates it well they will remove her umbilical catheter. That equals one great thing... HOLDING! I also met Ellas paternal birth-grandma who came to visit today. She was very sweet.
